mid exam review!

English Language

Needs: 68% for exam paper to get an A1
Expected: paper score B4, overall A2

now this paper is abit screwed. ive mentioned it before, about how i spent so long on the free essay and was left with a nice window of 20 minutes to rush through the SRQ. Comprehension didnt seem as hard as the usual ones, but then again, my scores are always rubbish for comprehension so i shant talk too soon. though i hope i can get 24 + 12 + 32 to get the A1 in the end, hopes are not high, and i think ill be settling for an A2 in the end. which is still quite okay

Biology

Needs: 57% for exam paper to get an A1
Expected: 70-80 for exam paper, A1 overall

im sour over this one. it was an easy paper and i knew almost everything, though i do acknowledge the presence of some fleeting doubt over modifying a dialysis machine and sickle-cell anaemia. but i just had to write so sloooooowly and run out of time and throw 6 marks worth of free-frag homeostasis questions down the drain.

Chemistry

Needs: 57% for exam paper to get an A1
Expected: paper score 85+ (plsplspls), overall A1 DUH

this paper is a 100% free-frag paper. fellow students' perpetual claims of the contary baffle me to no end.

Physics

Needs: 57% for exam paper to get an A1
Expected: paper score 80+, overall A1

this paper was a bit more tricky than the chemistry paper, but still very easy. with the exception that i forgot how to calculate momentum. actually, i didnt learn how to due to sleeping in last years physics lessons ehehe. anyway, lets hope the markers do not get over-particular about things like significant figures again

Chinese comprehension

Needs: 82% for exam paper to get an overall...screw it

60% for exam paper to get an overall B3
Expected: 50something% for exam, overall B4

i walked into the classroom this morning a dead man and practically flew out at 1000 on cloud nine. the paper was easier (than the usual insanely hard [for me] ones) and i managed to finish all but the last 5 mark question, as compared to last years exam or the recent common test where i threw a shitload of marks to waste. im hoping for 66/110 or so, so my composition can come in and grant me the extra 60 marks which i need for an overall B3

all in all, the exams have generally been easy and relaxing (mostly) so far. heck, ive even managed to play dota everyday. next up is maths (should i even bother?) and chinese composition. it almost feels like the holidays already XD

on a more serious note, it seems that another school, a primary school has been struck by mass food poisoning again. no wonder teachers were asking us if we had any diarrhoea or gastric flu this morning. poor little kids, especially those taking their PSLE. and even in this pitiful state the exam paper was still forced on one of them in the hospital. what the authorities are up to, i do not know, but it seems that red tape now has a higher priority over student health. sad.
