i broke my record of consecutive hours without sleep! its 27 now, though i suspect this will seem quite pathetic compared to some of my fellow councillors. anyway, stayed awake through the entire overnight worksession and event, slept on the bus and still woke up in a semiconscious state, dragged myself home and slept until 8pm, went for reunion dinner and continued sleeping all the way into chu yi at my grandmother's place. went home and slept another 9 hours until 10am until i finally managed to pay back my sleep debt.
CNY celebrations, frankly, could have been much better. decor wasnt that fantastic even after the last-minute lanterns/ropes. there were many times when crowd control was non-existent during the programme...like yusheng, mass dance etc. and the council stall, while selling good food, has crap decor. even mrs ang tagged on the council website blasting us over the decor and stall.
still, if anyone from CNY comm reads this, i would like to say that it isnt any of your fault, least of all the comm chair. small budget, lack of time due to O1 and high standards to live up to set by O1 are all things that cannot be helped, and i guess our efforts this year, while not spectacular, were reasonable at least.
i realised that somehow during gambling this year, when i feel like playing without intention of winning money and put the small bets, the money starts pouring in slowly and steadily. when i get tempted and put more stakes down i start losing like hell. i won $10 on the first day then went win-lose-win-lose-win-lose until my final earnings was like $10 again. but whatever, i enjoyed it alot this year and thats what that counts.
my backlog of work, in existance ever since o1, is gradually diminishing but still sizeable. i can only take consolation in the fact that that of other councillors has to be many times that of mine.
my moonlight sonata, which i have been butchering for the last year...is finally sounding decent by high standards! its quite amazing what having an international concert pianist as a teacher does for your technique really. ive improved by leaps and bounds in the 3-4 months since i started studying under him.
yup, thats pretty much all that has happened over my hiatus. HC<3I , orientation 2, block test 1, council elections, more homework, more piano practices coming up.
